GWEH was launched by Jared Storvik (owner and builder) after experiencing first-hand the impact that the construction industry has on environmental, community and health issues.
Knowing we can and must do better to improve our impact on the planet, we are committed to building a better world through our construction methods. We hope to improve the quality of life for those in the homes we build and the communities they are built in while inspiring more builders to take a leaf from our book.
It does not have to be this way though, and by using the amazing technology and resource learnings available to all of us, we can maximise the function of a home and minimise the impact it has on the planet. We can also still make them look beautiful. Once we realised how easy it was to change for the better, we could no longer build in this ‘old’ way.
Having over 20 years of experience in residential construction under his belt, Jared’s passion for a healthier earth and higher standard of construction is what drives the growth of GWEH.
Offering an honest approach to his clients, trades and suppliers, he is highly respected throughout the construction industry.
After starting his construction career as a carpenter in the Geelong region, he moved to the northern areas of Australia. There, he was lucky enough to work from the dustiest outback regions to the most beautiful lands of the traditional owners of this country and everywhere in between.
Jared also took the occasional break from construction to become a tour guide, where his passion for the environment we live in was only enhanced thanks to his experiences in the natural beauty of Kakadu, the unbelievable reefs and sea life of Ningaloo Reef, and teachings from the first nation mobs who showed how to live within the surrounding environment instead of against it.
Due to the pandemic, Jared has once again set down in his hometown of Geelong where GWEH is not just joining the sustainability revolution, but leading it.
